Cairney & Company are delighted to announce that Colin McCallum, Cairney Partner, has been inducted as a CASE Laureate.

Colin’s relationship with CASE spans back to the first ever CASE Europe Conference in Edinburgh in the early 1990’s where around 100 people attended (by 2019 attendance had grown to over 1,000). Since then he has been a stellar volunteer, whether as a member of the former CASE Europe Board, a speaker at many conferences and a sought after facilitator by leaders in the sector.  He is a recipient of the CASE Crystal Apple Award for Teaching Excellence and outstanding performance at conferences.

Colin has Chaired the CASE Europe Study Tour for Leaders since its inception and was also on the Faculty of the Spring Institute for many years, he describes the latter as “one of the most uplifting, challenging, enjoyable and exhausting experiences of my career!”  Colin was the founder of The Caledonian Group which brought together all of the sector leaders in development in Scottish Universities and has mentored and coached many of today’s Directors of Development.  He is a tireless advocate for ensuring that in particular fundraising and alumni relations is seen as a profession and one worthy of investment.

Launched in 2019, the CASE Laureates community helps maintain connection and communication with senior volunteers, keeping them engaged in the life of CASE—whether or not they are currently in a formal volunteer role. The Laureates are a global pool of experts who CASE can call upon when help is needed. The CASE Laureates are senior advancement practitioners who give their time and expertise in support of CASE and their advancement colleagues and who work tirelessly to share their knowledge to help CASE members grow impact, resilience and influence. It is for all of these reasons that CASE gratefully and proudly celebrates them.
