Alex is a creative and strategic specialist in the not for profit and charitable sectors and is a highly experienced consultant working across brand, communication and fundraising. He has worked with charities for 20 years, starting his own consultancy three years ago. Since day one, Alex has worked with the some of the largest, most innovative and respected organisations in the sector, including Macmillan Cancer Support, Samaritans, Scope and WaterAid. Client-side, Alex worked across brand, marketing and communications for the BBC, NSPCC, Cystic Fibrosis and Anthony Nolan.

His experience covers every part of the engagement process, from primary research through to strategic planning, delivery and analysis. As Head of Marketing for Anthony Nolan, he was responsible for creating the marketing and communications strategy, brand strategy and leading the creative, marketing and digital teams. Alex is confident and comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels, from in-depth interviews with senior civil servants for a brand strategy, to running staff workshops to redefine organisational values.

Alex’s experience in creating Cases for Support is formidable. He has developed Cases for Support for Scope, Breast Cancer Care, Royal Osteoporosis Society, St Martin-in-the-Fields, Independent Age, Demelza children’s hospice, Grandparents Plus and Samaritans (with Forster Communications). His extensive copywriting and strategy skills enable Alex to find the human emotion within the insight and develop work that focuses on what makes each organisation different, relevant and vital.

What inspires Alex to think big?

Since becoming a dad, I've found Dr Seuss wiser and more succinct than most business people and philosophers combined. When it comes to thinking big and finding an alternative solution to a problem, it's hard to top his book, Oh The Places You'll Go; "You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose."
